As I was going through my calendar and realizing how fast the summer is going by, I realized something that I truly like is soon approaching. That is of course is the “Ross Ferry Volunteer Fire hall’s annual Pork Chop BBQ” that happening on August 13th. Why I like this annual tradition is because last year I worked for the Hall and got to work all of the events in Victoria County everything from Pancake breakfasts at the Ross Ferry Hall on Canada day and another at the Big Bras D’or Hall, along with Strawberry festivals to the “Big Wave”, but one event always had me wondering what the turnout in the community for such an event the Pork Chop BBQ. I should state that last year was the second time I ever attended the BBQ the first being in 1999, and I’m still not sure why I didn’t go back for 11 years (big mistake on my end)! However last year working the event I met a lot of great people in the community, people that I met for the very first time, and people that I’ve haven’t seen in such a long time. All in all this event is a definite must attend for everyone not just in Ross Ferry or Victoria County but in Cape Breton as a whole.
Here is a list of the events going on August 13th. Credit goes to on me finding out the date for this memorable event
